Nice write up apart from the bit where me and Ginette go 'the wrong way' - wrong instructions more like ;). You said keep the stream on our right and we did - all the way to the lake that it feeds in to! Awesome weekend - let's do it all again :)

Sends me chilly when I think of wading through the cold, dark, underground water and the first time it came up over our wellies and soaked our legs good and proper :)

Haha - Cave Dale? Not bloomin likely!! Had a great time with my mountain bike guru but it was hard work, looking forward to picking up the pace next time and geting up all the climbs without falling off...

Sadly the squeak cam eback and even now in May 2012, the cause has not been identified. I'm starting to think it's something to do with the crank itself.

Although the first part of the ride was light this is the first night ride since begining of July, and the first for many more months since I've ridden round the Pines in the dark ..... I'd forgot how good it can be with a decent set of lights. In a month or so's time we'll be able to do the whole thing in the dark with any luck.
Anyway, as usual I thoroughly enjoyed the ride, and riding the Wall in the dark was interesting, maybe I should have taken extra lights instead of just the head torch for that bit, but I didn't realise it would get that dark that quickly, lesson learnt, but that happens every first night ride of the year.

Like this mate, interesting to know how it affects you. Being a bit shorter certainly doesn't seem to impede your ability. Not very often that you don't complete the same routes as us! Look forward to the next instalment :-)

The first climb was 'Nailsbane' a 20m route graded as VD
The second climb was 'Three Tree Climb' a 21m route graded as HS 4b
